GARDEN ROUTE
Four Day Tour
Day one We
Depart from Cape Town & travel via the Huguenot tunnel to Worcester,
a major wine region. We visit Kleinplasie, a living open-air museum. We
settle for lunch at a restaurant & travel to Mantague, home of the
world-renown hot water springs. Late afternoon takes us to Oudtshoorn,
habitat to 90% of the worlds ostrich population. We overnight at Oudtshoorn.
Day Two After
breakfast we do a guided tour of the worlds greatest limestone cave i.e.
the Cango Caves. Visit the crocodile and cheetah farms. A visit to Highgate
Ostrich farm for a tour & lunch would be our next stop. In the afternoon
we travel to George, the largest town on the Garden Route, where we overnight.
Day Three
In the Morning we board a steam
train which takes us on one of the worlds most picturesque train routes
to Knysna. Here we visit the Knysna Lagoon & after lunch we journey
to the Tsitsikamma National Park, an unspoilt wilderness, where we take
a leisurely walk to the Storms River Mouth. We enjoy some photography from
the suspension Bridge & return to Knysna to overnight via Plettenberg
bay, a south African holiday paradise. Day
Four After breakfast
we depart along scenic coastal route heading for Mosselbay. At Mosselbay
we discover its romantic history & visit the historic Post Office Tree
of the late 16th Century. We continue along our journey to Swellendam via
farmlands & rolling hills. Here we visit the Drostdy Museum, before
returning to the Mother City.
