Introduction

Only 20 minutes from the capital city and less than 10 minutes from the domestic and international airports, the coast offers great opportunities all year for both business travellers and holiday seekers.
Glenelg's well-known "Old Gum Tree" , was the site chosen by Governor Hindmarsh to read the proclamation of South Australia on 28 December, 1836. Each year this event is celebrated on Proclamation Day with a re-enactment of this reading on the same site.
The area boasts a Mediterranean climate characterised by warm dry summers and cool mild winters, with summer temperatures averaging 27°C and winter months around 15°C.

• Experience Glenelg's famous nostalgic 1929 Tram from Adelaide, uniquely the only operational city tram service

• HMS Buffalo is a majestic replica of the sailing ship that brought the early settlers to Holdfast Bay, Glenelg.

• Proclamation Trail A historic walking trail marking significant sites between the Bay Discovery Centre and the Old Gum Tree.

• Road to Federation A historic trial linking the Bay Discovery Centre and Kingston's Historic House at Kingston Park.

• Partridge House is a magnificent Tudor style home built in 1899.
• The Pioneer Memorial - Pays tribute to the early settlers of the state and is located in Moseley Square at the entrance to the Jetty.
• Glenelg Town Hall was built between 1875-1877 and is currently under renovation to accommodate a new and exciting Interpretive Centre, where you will discover the treasures of the City of Holdfast Bay.
