GOLD COAST

Introduction

The Gold Coast is a one hour's drive south of Brisbane, a 70 kilometre stretch of Pacific Ocean coastline with wide, clean beaches of golden sand that stretch from Stradbroke Island to Coolangatta, and across the border into northern New South Wales.
The Gold Coast has long been a favorite holiday destination. It's blessed with incredible natural beauty, a warm climate year-round and a 70km stretch of magnificent coastline with sweeping beaches offering some of the best surfing in the world. Surfer's Paradise, with its towering skyline, vibrant beachfront esplanade and glamour is the hub of the Gold Coast. Inland is lush rainforest, mountains and fertile valleys, aptly named the Hinterland, which provides spectacular views, bush walks and a forest hideaway just 30 minutes from the city centre.

The Gold Coast is famous for it's world class theme parks and attractions. Visitors can cuddle koala bears, hand-feed kangaroos and wild lorikeets, be exhilarated by the variety of fun rides or "terrorised" by colonial shoot-outs. Sports facilities in this area are numerous, from playing golf, to participating in a huge choice of watersports. By night, the standard of dining and entertainment is exceptional.
