Thirty-five kilometres south of Cooktown is Mungumby Lodge, a very private hideaway in the forest. A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the wilderness. The perfect base for exploring  the nearby rainforest, waterfalls, estuaries, savannah woodland, wetlands and aboriginal rock-art. Scrummy food! The lodge is licensed. Verandah dining, comfy chairs and sofas, antiques, ambience. Bush walking, bird watching, botanising, 4-wheel-drive safaris organised. We have 10 one-bedroom cabins, each with bathroom & patio.
